TRAVEL & PARKING

We recommend that all participants and spectators use public transport on Race Sunday when travelling to the Start, Finish and around the Brighton Marathon and BM10k course.

PARKING

We will once again provide runners and spectators with a Park and Ride service on Race Day. 

There are also a number of NCP car parks accessible on race day along the seafront, a full list of which can be found here. Please be mindful that there may be restricted access on the day.

You will be provided with road closure details closer to the time. Please keep checking our website.

TRAINS

Brighton mainline station is only a 15 minute walk from the start, while London Road station is 10 minutes. 
 
For suggested train times from all UK stations, please visit nationalrail.co.uk
 
If you are staying close to Brighton, many local stations have routes into the main station.
 
Travel Update for Race Day: We have been informed that Preston Park rail station will be closed on Sunday 9th April due to potential capacity issues on the platform. If travelling by train please go to Brighton mainline station or London Road station. These are the closest to Preston Park and are within walkable distances. Please check with National Rail for routes and tickets options.
 
 
Update 22.3.17: 

Southern Rail have planned to strike on Saturday 8 April, so this may effect your travel to the Event Village and Race Pack Collection. Please continue to check their website to find out if the strike goes ahead and whether you have to make alternative arrangements. If you do, please see details below coach services running from Central London offered by Zip Travel.

 

BUSES

Bus services will be subject to diversion on Race Sunday, so please do continue to check the Brighton & Hove Bus Company website for the most up to date travel information and full timetables.

Zip Travel are also offering a coach service either for Saturday and returning Sunday, or for Sunday alone.

BY AIR

London Gatwick is the closest airport and is 30 minutes away by train (trains run direct from the airport to Brighton mainline station) or 35-40 minutes by car.

London Heathrow is about 2 hours away by train or coach. Visit National Express for details of drop off points in Brighton and to book coach tickets.

 

 

TAXIS

If you are staying in or near Brighton taxis WILL be able to collect you and drop you close by to the Start area on Race morning. There will be road closures in place but routes are still possible across the city avoiding these closures and/or ahead of them being actioned. Road closure information will be available soon.
